I’ve always been fascinated by people—their actions, emotions, and motivations. This deep curiosity for human connection has shaped my life and career. Over the years, that foundation has grown into a mission to elevate workplace cultures across industries. At the heart of my work are four guiding pillars—wellness, emotional intelligence, communication, and leadership—which I believe are essential for any team’s success.
This realization didn’t come overnight. It’s the result of years of experiences, lessons, and challenges throughout my career in hospitality, dentistry, and leadership coaching. Each step has reinforced the belief that culture is not just a concept; it’s a transformative force that builds successful, connected businesses. I’ve had the privilege of guiding hundreds of businesses, both large and small, toward enhancing their cultures, driving business success, and fostering team happiness.
Growing up, I was immersed in hospitality. My father, an executive chef, and my mother, a food and beverage manager, taught me the values of hard work, kindness, and integrity. My dad’s advice—“Put your head down, lead by example, and don’t get caught up in the gossip”—became a guiding principle for me. Watching my parents serve others with grace and professionalism planted the seeds for my passion for leadership and communication.
At just 17, I took my first job as a waitress, expecting it to be temporary. But I quickly fell in love with service and the joy of making someone’s day better. One particularly toxic job environment, however, served as a wake-up call. Public humiliation and poor leadership made me realize how profoundly culture impacts a team’s happiness. That experience ignited a passion for creating positive environments where teams can grow and thrive.
The turning point in my career came when I joined La Costa Resort and Spa. There, I worked under leaders who valued positive culture and invested in creating unforgettable guest experiences. I learned how care and passion ripple outward, influencing not just customers but entire teams.
Later, at The Ritz-Carlton, I mastered the art of world-class service driven by emotional intelligence. Anticipating needs, listening deeply, and leading with empathy became central to my approach. These principles extended far beyond hospitality, shaping how I viewed leadership and culture in every industry.
I transitioned into dentistry after a new opportunity arose. What began as a front-office role grew into leadership positions managing multiple practices. I saw firsthand how strong culture—built on trust, relationships, and communication—creates thriving teams and enhances patient care. Drawing from my experiences at La Costa and The Ritz-Carlton, I helped transform practices into efficient, people-first workplaces. Inspired by these successes, I wrote Hygienepreneur: The Dental Hygienist’s Guide To Achieving Career Success & Personal Transformation to share strategies for fostering leadership and culture in professional settings. Through these experiences, I honed my framework of the four critical pillars. Wellness equips teams with the energy and resilience to succeed. Emotional intelligence fosters trust and empathy, reducing conflict and building cohesion. Communication ensures clarity and collaboration. Leadership inspires action and models behaviors that elevate the entire team. Together, these pillars form the foundation of outstanding workplace culture.
My life’s work is helping businesses plant the seeds of culture and cultivate lasting success. I’ve guided hundreds of organizations, from family businesses to large corporations, in creating cultures that drive growth, collaboration, and happiness. I see culture as the driving force behind every thriving organization. It’s what enables people to feel valued, inspired, and supported. By fostering aligned cultures, businesses not only succeed—they leave legacies of care, connection, and excellence. This is my passion, and I’m committed to guiding leaders and teams on their journeys to transform workplaces and lives.
My fascination with health, wellness, leadership, communication, and emotional intelligence began unexpectedly in my early 20s. It started when my ex-husband’s mother became an investor in a network marketing company and encouraged me to join. Though uninterested, I agreed in exchange for a sofa I had been dreaming about. Along with the sofa came stacks of nutritional supplements that I began taking out of necessity, only to realize they significantly improved my health. This sparked a lifelong passion for wellness and personal growth.
At the time, I worked as an executive in a large NYC advertising agency after graduating from NYU. Despite professional success, I felt unfulfilled, building someone else’s dream while yearning for deeper purpose. Through Nussentials, I received coaching from their leadership team, including Phil Mims, on sales, emotional intelligence, and communication. This mentorship fueled my commitment to helping others achieve health, financial freedom, and personal growth. Over two years, I built a team of 2,500 sales reps, became a national speaker, and transformed lives through my work.
In 2009, I faced the difficult decision to end my marriage and start fresh in North Carolina. Leaving everything behind required resilience and grit, but it deepened my commitment to the four pillars: health, leadership, communication, and emotional intelligence. I joined Smith Advertising, where I developed a digital services department, helping the agency succeed in travel, tourism, and healthcare. After the agency closed, I co-founded Front Row Communications, continuing my work in marketing and communications.
Partnering with my then-husband, Rick, I fulfilled a shared dream of opening Dragonfly Health & CrossFit Center, a holistic wellness space offering 150+ classes weekly, along with services like yoga, CrossFit, massage therapy, and childcare. Over six years, we grew the center to 1,000 members and 30 staff, and I earned certifications as a yoga instructor and health coach. Managing operations, marketing, and finances taught me invaluable lessons about leadership, cash flow, and building a connected community in an industry with high turnover.
Despite Dragonfly’s success, the pressures of running a business as a couple led to divorce and the center’s sale. It was a heartbreaking transition and I became a single mom, however, it opened the door to new opportunities. I began working as a Fractional Chief Marketing Officer, helping health centers, gyms, and dental practices achieve incredible business results with managed growth by creating systems for success.
In 2019, a client introduced me to a widely acclaimed business system that revolutionized her business. After a year of working with and refining that system, I created my own unique integration process tailored to the needs of my clients. By applying this approach across healthcare and small businesses, I helped foster cultures where employees felt valued and motivated to stay, while driving greater efficiency, managed growth, and creating workplaces people truly enjoyed.
Today, as a Fractional Integrator, COO, and CMO, I go beyond traditional coaching and consulting by rolling up my sleeves and working alongside visionary clients to execute their ideas and achieve real traction in their businesses. Unlike a coach or consultant who may advise or guide from the sidelines, I take on a hands-on role in driving strategy, streamlining operations, and delivering measurable results. This approach is the culmination of 25 years of experience in healing, coaching, consulting, and building businesses. Through speaking and writing, I aim to inspire others to embrace the four pillars of success and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives and organizations.
